Wrist, Scaphoid Fracture

Aquilion Lightning 19-year-old male reported severe pain after falling on his wrist. A CT scan of the wrist was performed. 3D Volume Rendered images, Multiplanar Reconstructions (MPR) and fused images demonstrate a scaphoid fracture.

Unilateral Hip Arthroplasty, SEMAR

Aquilion Lightning 70-year-old female, status post unilateral hip replacement surgery. A helical pelvic CT scan was performed with SEMAR (Single Energy Metal Artifact Reduction). Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR) and 3D Volume Rendered demonstrate images with reduced metal artifact, allowing physicians to evaluate the regional osseous, soft tissue structures as well as the prosthesis positioning. Long cortical obliteration at the level of the proximal prosthesis shaft is seen. Fragmentation of the acetabulum and the dorsal pillar. Extended lytic changes in the acetabulum is also seen.
